TECHNICAL WRITING
What is technical writing?
Generally speaking, we use technical writing when we’re writing to inform or instruct.
Unlike marketing writing that aims to persuade, engage and/or sell (brochures, social media, email marketing, some forms of website writing, etc), technical writing isn’t trying to sell the reader anything.
Technical writing is often used to explain, clarify or instruct.
What are some examples of technical writing?
User manuals
Instruction guides
Product spec sheets
Technical documentation
Is technical writing specifically for software or I.T. companies?
Not necessarily. There is a lot of technical writing in these sectors, but there is also technical writing needed in:
Manufacturing
Healthcare
Education
Government
Defence
Insurance
Finance
Engineering
Construction
We’ve written for all of these sectors – as well as the I.T. sector.
When your team members are under-resourced, we can provide an extra set of hands.
We have added value in a diverse range of government departments and industry sectors, including financial services, building/construction, infrastructure, engineering, healthcare and education.
We bring an often much-needed outsider’s perspective to a project.
